Reasonable adjustments
Reasonable adjustments are a legal requirement under the Equality Act (2010) to make sure health services are accessible to all disabled people.
They are small adjustments that can make a big difference for people with learning disabilities when they attend for health care appointments. A reasonable adjustment can be making appointments a little longer, offering appointments at the start or end of a clinic, providing a quiet area for someone to sit and wait or seeing someone at home if required.
For more information about reasonable adjustments and other information that will help you support patients with a learning disability, see: NHS. Reasonable Adjustments
