Welsh Government announce that social care staff will receive bonus payment

RCN Wales responds to the Welsh Government announcement that social care staff in public funded services will receive a £500 payment
Helen Whyley, Director RCN Wales, said: “Social care staff are working incredibly hard during this challenging time and absolutely deserve this bonus. However, this is not a long-term solution for a workforce that is consistently underpaid. We need to be looking at a sustainable pay rise to ensure that we can recruit and retain enough staff to care for people safely and effectively in the future.
