Helen Whyley, Director of the Royal College of Nursing Wales, said: “We are aware that re-opening the schools in Wales will be another step in easing the current lockdown in Wales.
School nurses have essential roles that contribute to the physical health and emotional well-being of school aged children and young people, their families and the wider community. While schools have been closed, school nurses have continued to work remotely by carrying out consultations by phone, video call or text chat.
We expect that all appropriate risk assessments will be in place to limit the spread of COVID-19.”
