Branch executive team members are voted in each year at branch annual general meetings.
In the northern region, our branch executive committee teams are made up of the following roles:
- County Durham and Darlington: a president, a chair, a secretary, a treasurer and two further branch executive members.
- Cumbria: a president, a chair, a secretary, a treasurer and two further branch executive members.
- Tees Valley: a president, a chair, a secretary, a treasurer and two further branch executive members.
- Northumberland, Tyne and Wear: a president, a chair, a vice chair, a secretary, a treasurer and one further branch executive member.
If you are interested in joining any of those branch teams in any capacity, please email your expression of interest to northern.region@rcn.org.uk by 30 August.
Members will be elected into committee roles at our branch AGMs, being held online for the first time ever this year from 8 to 10 September.
If you are interested in finding out a bit more about what being a branch executive entails, you can read this role description poster, or a longer branch role descriptor document.
If you would like to express your interest in a role, please read the documents under the 'Branches' section of the RCN's 'Our Governance Documents' webpage and email northern.region@rcn.org.uk a nomination form by 30 August to give us plenty of time to check your eligibility and inform the branch.
If a nomination has been received for a role then that nomination will be automatically be accepted over an expression of interest made spontaneously at the meeting itself, with no need for a vote, so it is very important to get your nomination in if you are interested in a branch executive role.
It would be helpful if you could then attend your branch's AGM or let us know if you can't.
