RCN Portsmouth and Isle of Wight Branch learning event and AGM.
For a number of years this branch has been known as the RCN Portsmouth Branch but from now on it will be the RCN Portsmouth and Isle of Wight Branch.
As you will know the IOW NHS Trust is now working in a group arrangement with Portsmouth Hospitals University NHS Trust with a shared executive team and board meetings in common.
For the RCN to best support members within IOW NHS Trust, we have moved members to the Portsmouth branch – which will be known as the RCN Portsmouth and Isle of Wight Branch.
AGM and Learning event
This AGM and learning event will include sessions focusing on 'Health and happiness'.
On the agenda will be sessions on:
- Eating well
- Alcohol /Drugs
- Mental Health
- AGM (Election to Exec Branch roles, Reps ratification)
- B5 Job evaluation update
- Well-being
- Smoking

Funding opportunity for up to 3 Isle of Wight members!
As a welcome to Isle of Wight members, one-off funding has been made available for up to 3 members on the Isle of Wight to attend the AGM and Learning event in person. To be considered for this opportunity, please fill out this form. If you cannot attend in person, the AGM section only will be shared on Teams between 12-12.45pm.
What is an AGM?
Your Branch AGM is the perfect time to review the year and plan activities for the coming year. It is an opportunity to welcome new members and decide on a committee structure. Any member of a branch can stand for one of the governance roles and if a role is contested an election may be held.
The AGM part of this date will be between 12 to 12.45pm. If you can only attend this then it will be shared on Teams.
Governance roles
Each Branch must have a chair, treasurer and secretary. What these roles involve is set out here.
Taking on one of these roles is a brilliant opportunity to gain some personal development and you will be supported by the RCN when you start. If you are interested in one of these roles, then please fill out this form before the AGM.
Representatives
If you are an accredited rep, the AGM is the time when the branch will decide to retain your accreditation, or in some rare cases, disaccredit you. For this reason, it is important you make every effort to attend.
