Join our conference created for student nurses at Oxford Brookes University.
We have a full day designed to support and inspire you at every stage of your student journey.
The event is free to attend.
You will hear from:
- Carmel O’Boyle, RCN Chair of Council: Understand the professional leadership and function of the College
- Vanessa Coelho, RCN Institute and Leadership Academy: Defining leadership, what is special about student leadership, and how does this prepare you for RN leadership
- Mary Bichard, RCN Regional Student Representative and Award of Merit Winner: A personal story of student to RN leadership
- Jim Blair, Professor of Learning Disability Nursing and Lead for Health and Social Care Engagement and Innovation at Rix Centre: Advocacy as clinical leadership – diversity of caring and shared values.
There will also be three interactive workshops on:
- Clinical leadership – simulation experience
- Essentials skills: giving and receiving feedback
- Imposter syndrome
You do not need to be a RCN member to attend this conference.
Practice hours may be available for attendance at this event
To be considered for the hours, students will need to complete a reflection based on the NMC Code and relevant standards, demonstrating what they have learned from the conference and how this relates to their practice.
Delegates will be provided with a Google Form containing questions to guide their reflection. Students will need to submit their completed reflection through the form.
The reflections will then be reviewed, and students who provide a satisfactory reflection may be awarded the practice hours.
