Longitudinal survey of nursing professoriate
A record of five surveys conducted between 2003 and 2015
Between 2003 and 2015, the RCN conducted a series of five longitudinal surveys of nurses and midwives who hold substantive chairs in UK Higher Education Institutions. The numbers of nurses holding professorial positions in the UK may serve as a proxy indicator of the development of nursing academic and research leadership within the professions, particularly when compared with cognate professional groups.
