POLICY: Nursing at the Edge - Case Study - Slammer of the status quo

01 November 2014
A case study from the police custody service in Lothian which informed the findings of RCN Scotland’s Time To Change report on health inequalities
If Scotland is serious about addressing this country’s chronic health inequalities, we have to do much more to meet the needs of people who exist on the edges of society: those who are poor, homeless, living with mental health challenges or drug and alcohol problems, ex-prisoners and the socially disenfranchised.

This case study of Jess Davidson, a Lothian-based nurse leading changes in police custody suites, informed our main Time To Change report
