Reason you chose this book

I was dubious about this book at first but I found it very thought provoking and in places heart rending. It sums up attitudes and approaches to ageing beautifully.

Review

Atul Gawande is an American physician with an Indian family background. "Being Mortal" takes the reader through the ageing and dying phases and questions their medicalisation and the various approaches that can help health care practitioners support ageing populations. He considers various models of care both thoughtfully and critically.
